When you've got places to go and things to see, Electra's Loft 7i is your smooth-riding urban machine. The light, zippy aluminum frame soars down the road, and the sturdy aluminum wheels, wrapped in city-tough 700 x 35c tires, roll over less-than-perfect pavement with ease. The swept-back handlebars and supportive sprung saddle provide a back-friendly, heads-up riding position, while the leather grips are sure to keep your hands happy. Shimano's internally geared Nexus 7 rear hub provides wide-ranging, maintenance-free, and supremely simple shifting, while powerful dual-pivot brakes keep things under control. The Loft 7i is totally decked out for your daily riding adventures, too, with fenders, a rear rack, and a chain guard.

About Me

Comments:

This is a true joy to ride. The Shimano 7i gears makes hills easy to climb. With panniers I can carry 40 lbs of groceries without difficulty. In rain and snow it seems to work well, although like any caliper brakes, effectiveness declines when wet requiring some forethought. The internal hub gearing makes shifting effortless, even when stopped. The fenders (with the addition of a homemade mudflap in the front) keep road debris and water off the components and rider. After almost 4 months of almost daily use (I am not crazy enough to ride on ice) I have no regrets about this bike.
